Domain Pointers

A domain pointer directs internet traffic to the location in your account where your website files exist.

Pointer Types

1) Home - default setting, typically points to your main website installation, like /public_html/ or possibly a WordPress installation like /public_html/wp_website/.

2) Subdirectory - point to content in a subdirectory, like /public_html/contactlist, /public_html/events etc.

3) URL Standard - points to another website address: https://www.myotherwebsite.com

4) URL Stealth - points to a directory in your hosting account (/public_html/new-website/ but appears as your top-level domain, i.e.  https://www.myotherwebsite.com

5) Park - your domain is parked and not pointing to any hosting files.

Subdomains

A subdomain exists as part of your main domain. For instance: north.example.com and south.example.com would be subdomains of example.com
